Final Tally: Liberia Clinches 21 medals in Regional Athletics Championships in Ghana  

Cape Coast,  Ghana- The Liberia’s athletics team has grabbed 21 medals in the Youth and Junior Championships in the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) Region II Competition at Cape Coast Sports Stadium in Ghana.

Team Liberia, comprising 15 athletes, won one (1) gold, seven (7) silver and thirteen (13) bronze medals at the end of the two-day’s regional track and field events.

In the Youth Male edition, Team Liberia won gold medal in 200m. Seven (7) silver medals were won in Youth Male 100m, Javelin,
Medley Relay (4pcs) and Women High Jump.

The Youth  Male, won three bronze in 100m, 400m and Shot Put, and in the Youth  Female Category,  Team Liberia grabbed five bronze medals  including Long Jump and
Medley Relay (4pcs) and then
additional five bronze medals in the Junior Male Category;
4x100m (4pcs),
Javelin and 400m.

The Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Youth and Sports funded Team Liberia’s participation.

It may be recalled, Team Liberia departed for Ghana Wednesday and Thursday respectively to participate in the 2022 CAA Region II Youth/Junior Championhship in Cape Coast, Ghana.

The 22-man’s delegation was headed by the Vice President for Technical Affairs, Atty. Frederick B. Kray.

The Liberia’s athletics delegation will return in country on Monday.

Heroes

The 15 athletics who clinched the 21 medals Arthur Quaqua, Telvin Jallah, Saybah Kolee and Triphina Turay.

Others are Abraham Davies, Robert Williams, Christopher Krah, Musa Kamara, Lassanna Tawallay,
Fred Krah, Jr., Patrick Flomo, Anna Freeman, Marthaline Kesselly, Winston Nuwon and
Charlston Nuwon.
