Rafiki School Wins 2022 Inter High School Athletics  Championship

The Liberia Athletics Federation (LAF) Friday crowned Rafiki-Liberia School as  winner of the 2022 Inter High School  Athletics Championship held at the Olympic Village Field in Soul Clinic  Community.

The boys and girls’ track and  field teams of Rafiki-Liberia earned 39 points in 10 events.

Rafiki was outstanding in six (6) events where they grabbed six gold medals, totaling a staggering 30 out of their overall 39   points. Rafiki replaced Upper Caldwell Community School as champion.

Rafiki snatched gold in the 400m and 1500 races and 4×400 relay in the male category; high jump in the female edition as well as  800m in both the male and female categories.

Runner-up’s Body of Christ School System accummlated 25  points, winning three gold medals in the female category in the 4x400m and 4×100 relays respectively while in the male category of the high jump, Eric Sawah, Jr., jumped 1.70 to give Body  of Christ a gold.

The third place was Citizens’ Assembly School System, with the total points of 16 points.

Thirteen (13) schools participated in this year’s annual tournament, which brought to the fore about 145 athletes.

Other schools which participated in this year’s Inter High School Athletics Championship, which was the 16th edition, included Free Pentecostal Global, Grace Christian, Paynesville SDA and New Brighter Future.

Others were Bethesda, St. Paul Evanglical, African Dreams, AWARE International, Growing Seed and VILS School System.
